Since the beginning of the war, a crisis team has been working in the Archdiocese of Ivano-Frankivsk to support those affected by the war. Aid goes to both internally displaced people and people affected by the war. An exceptional activity of the Archdiocese is the support of Ukrainian soldiers. To save their lives, more than half a thousand Italian-made bulletproof vests were distributed.
The bulletproof vests supplied have the fourth degree of protection, which, according to the military, optimally protects against the most common modern bullets, while maintaining not too overloaded weight characteristics. After the bulletproof vests are delivered to the Archdiocese’s distribution center, they are carefully sorted, all the necessary elements are inserted and prepared for delivery directly to the military and to various voluntary and non-governmental organizations. Volunteers, including many seminarians, are convinced that such a service will truly benefit those who are risking their lives today to protect their country and ensure peaceful skies over Ukraine.
Such an initiative is possible thanks to the help of the Ukrainian diaspora in Italy, who support this social project.
