As we have already reported, a distribution point for humanitarian aid was organized by the crisis committee of the Archdiocese of Ivano-Frankivsk. Local volunteers receive, sort and distribute relief supplies to those in need.
The Archbishop of Ivano-Frankivsk, Dr. Volodymyr Viityshyn visited the distribution center to encourage the volunteers for their work and to thank them for their daily service to those close to them. “When there is war in the country, the best thing we can do is be useful in our place, work hard for our neighbors – for that is our common duty and calling. Therefore, I thank you for your work and your service, God bless you”, – said the bishop.
Aid supplies have been collected since the beginning of the war at the distribution center and forwarded to the needy. Among other things, it is about medicines, food for long-term storage, hygiene articles and clothing. First of all, the people at the front and in the contested areas are helped. In addition, the numerous internally displaced persons who were housed in the buildings of the Archdiocese as well as scattered throughout the city and the surrounding area also receive the most necessary things: food, hygiene items, medicines, clothing, shoes, bed linen.
Such an initiative is possible thanks to the support of both our benefactors from abroad and the parishes of the Archdiocese of Ivano-Frankivsk, who support this social project.
