One of the tasks of the Archdiocese of Ivano-Frankivskʼs crisis center is to provide humanitarian aid to the towns in the embattled areas in the east of Ukraine.
As part of this operation, a 20-ton truck delivered humanitarian aid to the Donetsk region, including the cities of Ochertyne, Avdiivka and Pokrovsk. Among the items handed over were medicines, food, hygiene articles and clothing. According to the head of the military and civil administration of the city of Avdiivka, Mr. Vitaliy Barabash, the Frankivsk region is his second homeland and he sincerely thanks everyone who took part in this help.
“First of all, I would like to thank the Ivano-Frankivsk Archdiocese of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, all parishioners and volunteers who collected this help for us quickly enough. Thank you to all concerned citizens of Ivano-Frankivsk and the region, as well as from abroad. This help is further proof that we are one, whole, East and West together. We know that it is not easy for you there either, but we are grateful from all Avdiivka, from our Donetsk region, that you support us and help us”, – said Mr. Vitaliy Barabash in a video address.
Such an initiative is possible thanks to the support of both our benefactors from abroad and the parishes of the Archdiocese of Ivano-Frankivsk, who support this social project.
